Privacy Policy — CrabTalk
Last updated: February 18, 2026
CrabTalk ("we," "us," "our") is a mobile app that lets you communicate by voice with an OpenClaw server that you configure. This Privacy Policy explains what information CrabTalk processes, how it’s used, and the choices you have.
1) What CrabTalk does
CrabTalk acts as a client. When you use the app, it records your voice (with your permission), sends it to the OpenClaw server you configure, and then displays/plays the server’s response.
2) Information CrabTalk processes
A. Information you provide
- Server URL you enter.
- Access token / API key you provide to authenticate with your server.
B. Audio and transcripts
- Your voice input is recorded on your device and transmitted to your configured server when you send a message.
- CrabTalk may display transcripts of your voice input and the server’s responses.
C. App usage and diagnostics (optional)
- If enabled, CrabTalk may collect basic diagnostics to improve stability (e.g., crash logs, connection errors). This information is intended to help us debug and improve the app.
3) Where your data goes
- CrabTalk sends your voice input and related request data to the OpenClaw server you configure.
- We do not operate or control your OpenClaw server. The server operator (you or your organization) determines how data is processed, stored, and used on that server.
- If you are using CrabTalk with a server operated by a third party, your use of that server is subject to that party’s policies.
4) Data storage on your device
CrabTalk may store the following locally on your device:
- Server connection settings (e.g., server list)
- Access tokens (stored using the device’s secure storage when available)
- Conversation history, transcripts, or audio replays only if you enable history features
You can delete local conversation data from within the app (if enabled) or by uninstalling the app.
5) How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide core functionality (connect to your server, send audio, display responses)
- Maintain and improve the app (debugging, performance, reliability)
- Provide support when you contact us
We do not sell your personal information.
6) Sharing
We share information only in the following situations:
- With your configured OpenClaw server, as required to provide the service
- With service providers (if any) that help us operate the app (e.g., crash reporting), under contractual obligations to protect data
- For legal reasons, if required by law or to protect rights and safety
7) Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information stored in the app (including using secure storage where available). However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and your OpenClaw server’s security is controlled by its operator.
8) Your choices
Depending on app features available:
- Microphone access: you can enable/disable in iOS settings
- History: you can disable saving transcripts/audio history
- Delete data: you can delete local history (if enabled) or uninstall the app
9) Children
CrabTalk is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10) International users
Your configured OpenClaw server may be hosted in any country. Your data may be transferred to and processed in the location where your server is hosted.
11) Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above.
